JOSHUA B. KAPLAN, ESQUIRE
Josh Kaplan brings a diverse skill set to his complex commercial litigation practice. While attending the Georgetown University Law Center, Josh served as a legal research and writing teaching fellow and honed his advocacy skills in the school’s Criminal Justice Clinic. Prior to joining Braverman Kaskey, he spent four years as a staff attorney at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and later practiced securities litigation at a respected Philadelphia class action firm.
Josh now concentrates his practice on complex commercial and civil matters. In doing so, Josh understands the importance of working closely with each of his clients to develop a keen understanding of their business and the issues they face. He has experience handling cases in both state and federal courts, including shareholder disputes, commercial lease disputes, and appellate matters.
Josh is also active in pro bono matters, and serves on the pro bono civil rights panel for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In that role, he has obtained favorable settlements for multiple plaintiffs who asserted constitutional violations stemming from inadequate medical care and security lapses.
Josh is a 2002 graduate of the University of Miami, where he earned his degree in Motion Picture Production and Political Science. He received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2008. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
